Tell us a little about who you are

I was both a national and world titleholder in the sport of Action Pistol Shooting, and I am the first and only woman in the history of the NRA’s Bianchi Cup to have won eight National Women’s titles.

Why is celebrating our APA Heritage important to you?

I believe in the nonprofit organization of APAGOA’s focus on responsibility and education on firearm safety for the communities of Asian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders.

What’s your ethnic background and what do you appreciate about your APA heritage?

I was born in China and immigrated with my parents to the United States when I was 12 years old.

I appreciate to see that there is a community to provide for the firearm owners with the education on firearm safety and responsibility.

What is one of your favorite firearms and why?

I have competed in all the championships with 1911’s in the open class throughout my shooting sport career, and that has become my favorite firearm of choice.

What’s a top firearms safety tip you can share?

Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.

What’s one of the hardest things you’ve ever accomplished?

Giving a public speech in front of an audience.

What’s an exciting firearms-related project or initiative you’re working on?

To keep myself busy and active with the outdoors during my “Golden Years”, I am currently learning sporting clay shooting with a 12 gauge shotgun.

And I have been participating in the World Huntsman Senior Games in the sporting clay events in St. George, Utah for the past 3 years.

Where do you go for firearms news and culture?

Since I have taken up sporting clay shooting a few years ago, the only news that I get were where and how to get better lessons and training in sporting clay shooting. That has taken me to Utah, Nevada, Southern California, and Texas to practice and matches.
